Join us at the Jack Wilkinson Levy Campus for a comprehensive bootcamp that combines hands-on activities with essential theory to prepare you for a career in fiber optics.
Course Options
Certified Fiber Optics Technician (CFOT) – $995.00
Monday – Tuesday, Dec. 2-3 | 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 4 | 8 a.m.-noon
This introductory three-day fiber optic tech course is designed for anyone interested in becoming a Certified Fiber Optic Technician. This Fiber Optic Training combines theory and 85% hands-on activities to prepare the student to take the CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) test that is sanctioned by the FOA (Fiber Optics Association) and given and graded the final class day. The student must pass both the written and hands-on exams to successfully pass this course. Course fee includes all books, study materials, exams and one-year membership to the FOA.

Certified Fiber Optics Specialist in Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T) $895.00

Thursday, Dec. 5 | 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This two-day course is designed to offer advanced training to anyone involved with the testing and maintenance of fiber optics networks. This comprehensive course explains the variety of testing standards, equipment and technological approaches used in fiber network testing and splicing and how to choose among them. Along with chapter tests, class discussions and substantial hands-on activities, the Specialist Fiber Optics Certification Test (both written and practical) is given and graded at the end of the class. Students will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program.

Certified Fiber Optics Splicing Specialist (CFOS/S) $895.00
Friday, Dec. 6 | 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This one-day advanced specialist fiber optic course includes a complete PowerPoint presentation explaining the importance of high performance splicing and further details the points necessary to achieve these splices. The depth of this presentation is much greater than most textbooks and provides background information about splicing that is very important to the student. The CFOS/S test is given and graded at the end of the class. A hands-on practical exam is given to insure student is proficient in installing and making mechanical and fusion splices according to industry standards.

Prerequisite: Students are encouraged to register for all courses being offered with the understanding that the CFOT course must be successfully completed prior to attending any of the other subsequent courses. Students MUST have successfully passed the basic fiber optic training course (CFOT) within the preceding 12 months or have renewed their FOA membership within that time frame prior to attending the CFOS/T and CFOS/S courses. There are no exceptions.
