The CF Debra Vasquez Memorial Poetry Series will host professor and award-winning author David Kirby. A writer and poet, Kirby will offer two reading/signings at the College of Central Florida’s Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road. The readings will take place Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 12:30 p.m. in the Humanities and Social Sciences Building (Building 8, Room 110) on the Ocala Campus and at 7 p.m. at the Webber Center.
The reading is free and open to the public.
Kirby, author of 30+ poetry and essay books, has won multiple Pushcart Prizes, the Brittingham Prize and fellowships from Guggenheim and NEA. He also received the Florida Book Award and Millennium Cultural Recognition Award. An educator at FSU since 1969, his poems are known for humor, accessibility and depth.
