Continuing education courses for individuals in the child care profession

The state of Florida has comprehensive standards to ensure the safety and well-being of children. CF offers noncredit child care courses for those who wish to earn credentials or renew their existing credentials.

Florida Child Care Professional Credential Renewal: CDA Renewal

Renew your FCCPC certificate (must be renewed every 5 years) with this 45-hour course, which covers readiness, literacy, curriculum exploration, learning through play, environments and problem resolution training focused on the education of children in early childhood education.

Operation of an Early Child Care Center/Director’s Credential Renewal

Renew your Director’s Credential (must be renewed every five years) with this 45-hour course comprised of trends and current management practices. Participants will examine employment retention, cutting edge curriculums, fundraising, keeping up with licensing requirements and model programs, enhancing quality and accreditations.

Florida Child Care Professional Credential

Earn your FCCPC online with this training program approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families to provide the required training elements to obtain the Florida staff credential. This program consists of a minimum of 120 hours of early childhood coursework, a professional resource file, 480 contact hours with children ages birth through 5. A minimum of 80 hours must be completed within the 480-hour requirement while participating in the FCCPC training program.

Upon successful completion of the program the student information will be submitted to the Florida Department of Children and Families for issuance of the credential. Participant must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
