Enrollment FAQs

Do prep courses count toward my degree?

Unlike college level credit, prep courses do not count toward your degree. Nevertheless, they can determine your status as a full-time student and they count as earned credit for determining your priority registration period.

What is Credit by Examination?

Many students bring a depth of knowledge to specific subjects. We recognize and honor such knowledge by awarding credit by examinations. Section 1007.27 (2), Florida Statutes, requires the Articulation Coordinating Committee, ACC, to establish passing scores and course and credit equivalents for such exams.

Hours toward graduation are recorded as “credit by examination” with no grades or quality points given. These credits do not affect a student’s grade point average. Click here for more information.

Can I use credits for more than one degree?

Yes, you are allowed to use credits that meet prerequisite or elective requirement for more than one degree.

How do I register for classes?

You can add classes by logging in to your MyCF portal. Use your CF student ID and password. If you do not know your student ID, you can retrieve it by clicking on the “ID and Password Info” tab. Once you are logged in, click on the “Enrollment” tab then click “Add or Drop Classes.” Click the link “Register For Classes” and ensure your options are set for the correct semester and year. Once you have registered for your courses, you will have 10 business days to pay for your courses. Therefore, your FAFSA application will need to be completed 10 business days after you register. For further assistance, consult the Web Registration Guide.

When can I register for classes?

Your registration period is determined by the priority registration schedule, which is based on how many credit hours you have earned. The schedule for registration can be found on the calendar.

When do classes start?

All important dates can be found on the calendar.

How do I drop a class?

Consult the calendar to verify the deadline to drop a class.

How do I withdraw from a class?

If you wish to withdraw from a class within the withdrawal period, you can complete this by logging in to your MyCF portal online. Use your CF ID as your User ID. In your portal, click on the “Enrollment” tab then click “Withdraw from Classes.” Follow the link “Withdraw from Classes” and ensure your options are set for the correct semester and year. How do I check to see if I have a hold on my account?

You can check for holds by logging in to your MyCF portal. Login using your student ID and password then click on “Enrollment.” On this page, select the “Add or Drop Classes” tab and check the “My Holds” section on this page and see if any holds have been placed on your enrollment record. What is grade forgiveness?

Grade forgiveness permits a student to repeat a course in which they received a grade of D or F. Students will be given only three attempts to improve their grade. While the last attempt will be used toward the student’s GPA, the initial grade will appear on the student’s transcript. Visit our catalog for more information about our grade forgiveness policy.
