Gallery Talk with Artist Vicki Jones May 11

News Release
The Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, presents a gallery talk with Vicki M. Jones on Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m. Her work is on view at the Appleton through July 7 in a solo exhibition entitled “Familiar Beauty.” This talk is free for Appleton members; included with admission fee for nonmembers.
Jones is a native of Central Florida and has been exhibiting her pencil drawings since 1987. Her realistic and sometimes surreal works vary in subject matter, including landscape, portraiture (of
people and of trees), still-life and architecture. Other media exhibited include pastel and colored pencil drawings.
“In my pencil drawings I like to show, just by focusing intently on a subject, that the very ordinary things (or people) we encounter daily can hold surprising beauty, wonder or mystery,” Jones said.
Owned and operated by the College of Central Florida, the Appleton Museum of Art is located at 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, east of downtown on SR 40 (exit 352 east off I-75 or exit 268 west off I-95). Parking is free.
