The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Principles of Accreditation Standard 8.1 (Student Achievement) requires institutions to identify, evaluate, and publish goals and outcomes for student achievement appropriate to the institution’s mission, the nature of the students it serves, and the kinds of programs offered.

About College Effectiveness Indicators

The CEI Report has been the major reporting vehicle for determining how effective the college has been in achieving its goals and objectives for over 20 years. Each indicator is measured against the benchmark year column for the term of the plan.

1.1.1 Student Learning Outcomes data is collected each fall from faculty and evaluated in the spring semester. The changes necessary to improve student learning are then incorporated into the instruction for the following fall semester to provide a fall to fall comparison on the five general education SLOs: Critical Reasoning, Communication, Quantitative and Analytical Reasoning, Global Socio-Cultural Responsibility, and Computer and Information Skills.

1.2.1 Gateway course success is pulled from CF’s Student Information System and based on a grade of A, B, C, or Satisfactory in Freshman Composition Skills I (ENC1101), Intermediate Algebra (MAT1033), Liberal Arts Mathematics (MGF1106), Mathematical Explorations (MGF1107), Elementary Statistics (STA2023), College Algebra (MAC1105), First Year Seminar (SLS1122).

Transfer Rates are a measure for the Aspen Top 150 list for Community College Excellence based on Florida College System and Florida Department of Education Florida Education and Training Placement Information Program (FETPIP) data and include associate degree graduates who transfer within two years of graduation to the upper division at a Florida College System institution or state university. Note: CF’s reporting year uses the previous FETPIP year data.
