CF Radiography Program Earns Accreditation

News Release
The College of Central Florida has announced that its Radiography program has been awarded accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
The JRCERT accreditation is effective immediately and will apply to the upcoming graduates of the Radiologic Technology program. Graduates from the college’s Radiologic Technology program sit for the certification exam given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in order to become radiographers. CF’s Radiography program will graduate its first class of students this May.
The Associate in Science degree program started in August 2017. After completing the two-year 77-credit hour program, graduates are eligible to take the certification examination. The degree opens the path into other areas of medical imaging such as mammography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, nuclear medicine or other related imaging specialties.
“This achievement marks the beginning of a bright future for the Radiography program at CF. It comes as a result of hard work and commitment to excellence from our program manager, faculty, and support staff to deliver a quality educational experience for our students,” said Dr. Stephanie Cortes dean of Health Sciences. “As an accredited radiography program, our graduates are now poised to enter a high-skill, high-wage career and meet the workforce needs in our community.”
CF is now accepting applications for its fall 2019 class, which begins Aug. 19. For more information about applying, contact Chelsea Siver at siverc@cf.edu.
