Ready to receive a well-rounded understanding of business entrepreneurship? CF’s Entrepreneurship Academy is a 12-credit college credit certificate that allows students to gain insight, experience and skills that are foundational in becoming entrepreneurs and business community leaders. In partnership with the Chick-Fil-A of Ocala franchise, this unique program allows students receive a behind-the-scenes knowledge of one of the most successful franchise business models in the restaurant industry.
Courses are taught by experts who have founded or helped establish successful businesses. Any current or aspiring entrepreneur will benefit from the valuable guidance and knowledge they will gain from this certificate program.
Course Information
This innovative program selects a cohort of students annually for the academy. Students will receive two semesters of instruction in entrepreneurship focused courses. Each course will be complemented with hands-on experiential activities organized by Chick-Fil-A of Ocala leadership.
Principles of Management: This course focuses on the principles of management, and you learn management concepts from successful leaders within the community with an emphasis on developing decision-making skills and solving organizational problems.
Introduction to Entrepreneurship: This course provides an overview of the role of entrepreneurial businesses in the United States and the impact of these businesses on the national and global economy. Students evaluate the skills and commitment necessary to successfully operate an entrepreneurial venture. Additionally, students review the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship as a career choice, as well as the entrance strategies needed to accomplish such a choice.
Entrepreneurship Opportunities: This course examines the external business environment and identifies trends and needs in the marketplace. In this course, you’ll have the opportunity to screen potential business ideas while developing market feasibility analyses and engaging in basic market research.
Small Business Management: This course studies the management concepts involved in operating a small business, including planning, locating, operating, evaluating and controlling a business enterprise.
