The CF Theatre Program annually produces several major productions and one-act plays, as well as hosts guest artists to work with students. In addition, the department offers courses in the history of theater, acting, play production, costuming and make-up, scenic design and more. There are a number of opportunities for students to become involved in theater productions, with approximately 150 students finding their way on stage or working behind the scenes each year. Drama students attend professional productions around the state and various competitions and festivals each year. In 2009-2010, students in this program worked together to create an entirely student run production of modern one-act plays and enjoyed a visit by esteemed actor Ed Asner. In 2010-2011, the drama program will partner with the vocal music program to produce a musical that brings talent from both the college and communities we serve. This all happens under the exciting new leadership of Assistant Professor Rob O’Brien. Don’t miss it!
