2009 Study: Kinship Care
Update: September 1, 2009.
In February, the 2009 Public Policy Institute Kinship Care Study Committee began a six-month research process to analyze and evaluate existing resources and services and to develop recommendations that can be implemented locally to enhance access to kinship care support in Ocala/Marion County. The first public presentation of the finished report will be offered at the Kid’s Central, Inc. 3rd Annual Kinship Conference on Friday, September 18th at the Klein Conference Center at Central Florida Community College. 2010 Study: To Be Announced
The Public Policy Institute Board of Directors is presently defining the scope of the 2010 study. This and other study details will be released in the coming months. 2009 Study Topic Results
IIn April 2008, The Public Policy Institute (PPI) of Marion County conducted an email survey of community leaders to determine the 2008 study topic as well as areas of study for future consideration. PPI is well-positioned to provide policymakers with objective research and non-partisan recommendations to develop innovative solutions to complex issues of social concern in order to improve community quality of life.
