The Arbor Day Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit conservation and education organization. Its mission: “We inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.” The College of Central Florida has been designated a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for striving to engage its student body and the broader community to establish and sustain healthy community forests for the benefit of current and future residents. Founded in 1972, the centennial of the first Arbor Day observance in the 19th century, the Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with more than one million members, supporters and valued partners. |
