• Editor-in-chief (Managing Editor)—oversees the layout, submissions, printing, distribution, and finances. Communicates with staff and faculty adviser. Assigns, reassigns, and assumes magazine duties as needed.
• Assistant Editor-in-chief—assist the Editor-in-chief with all duties named above and keeps meeting minutes. Assumes Editor-in-chief responsibilities in the event of Editor-in-chief’s absence or vacancy.
• Design Editor—manages layout of magazine and designs using Adobe InDesign (preferred) or Microsoft Publisher. Researches printing companies, options, and obtains quotes.
• Submissions Editor—maintains magazine email address and distributes submissions to appropriate editors. Sends e-mails to confirm receipt of submissions. Sends acceptance/rejection/revise and resubmit letters.
• Copy Editors—attend meetings, evaluate submissions, and vote on what should be accepted into the magazine. Responsible for tasks as needed.
• Poetry Editor—receives, evaluates, and suggests edits for poetry submissions.
• Fiction Editor—receives, evaluates, and suggests edits for fiction submissions.
• Nonfiction Editor—receives, evaluates, and suggests edits for nonfiction submissions.
• Photography Editor—receives, evaluates, and suggests edits for photography submissions
• Graphic Art Editor—receives, evaluates, and suggests edits for graphic art submissions.
• Webmaster—maintains magazine webpage on main CF website and updates any social media the club chooses to use.

As membership numbers permit, positions may be combined and assistant editors may be appointed. All officers must attend meetings.

Each year, we send our best submissions to the student magazine contest of the Florida College System Publications Association. In October, we attend the FCSPA’s Annual Awards Conference, where we attend workshops and the awards banquet. We have been recognized for excellence over the years, and we only want to improve.

To join the editorial staff, you must:

• Be enrolled in at least one course at the Citrus Campus (Editor-in-chief and Design Editor must be enrolled in at least two courses
• Maintain a 2.0 or above GPA for the entire term of office and at time of election

We began in 1990, as a project of Professor Lynne Boele’s creative writing course. Several faculty have advised the student editorial staff since then, including Michele Wirt, Susan Monier, Mike Temple, Melissa Alling and Jon Schneiderman. The magazine has morphed into an academic club housed under Student Life, but the creative writing and art courses offered at the Citrus Campus still feed into the magazine, which solicits submissions from the student body, staff, and faculty.
